We move on to the illegal war against Iraq . "They have Weapons of Mass Destruction and I would never forgive myself if I did nothing". He further added, "We will find them." We now know that that too was a deliberate lie, so as to justify taking our nation to war, whilst hanging onto the coat tail of George Bush
This war was in clear contravention of International law. However when questioned about the legality he merely smiles and says, "Well we got rid of Saddam Hussein." Having regard to so many who died, how can one possibly smile?
Tony Blair now has blood on his hands. He has been responsible for the murder of thousands of men women and innocent children, in addition to all our loyal soldiers who have perished under his illegal actions. He violated U.N. Resolution 1441. He violated by three to two the wishes of the U.N. Security Council and most other Members, including all our European partners, with the exclusion of the Spanish Premier Aznar. He too had acted against the will of his people and was kicked out at the following election.
He lied about having nothing to do with the so-called 'sexed up' document and then we found he had chaired the Committee who were concerned with it.
He has brought great shame on our nation. He has ostracized us from our European allies. None of whom have any respect for him.
Who is to pay for our role in this war? Perhaps he has the State pensioners earmarked!
Even as recently as 17 th September 2004 we saw Jack Straw, our Foreign Secretary on television, when he admitted that the 45 minute weapons capability was a fabrication, as was the capability of Iraq even to have present the ability to manufacture such weapons.
It now emerges that this war was planned, as long ago as the previous year and Parliament and the public were merely being prepared by propaganda for the eventual result.
We now know that certain documents were falsified over Iraq 's attempts to purchase nuclear material.
We were never allowed to be privy to the view of the Attorney General, even though he would no doubt not have been informed of the truthfulness over the matter.
It must also be considered that two senior Members of the Cabinet felt so strongly that they resigned.
If nobody else does, history will eventually put Tony Blair on trial. He already stands condemned by the Father of the House. When will these lies end? What trust can we ever place in our 'Cavalier' Prime Minister?
Meanwhile the war goes on and innocent Iraqi's and our own soldiers are being killed - for what. In their enthusiasm to depose Saddam Hussain Bush and Blair forgot the golden rule of war.
NEVER GO TO WAR WITHOUT AND END PLAN - they did and now we all are paying the price.
Even in George Bush Senior's memoirs - he is quoted as saying that during the previous invasion of Iraq he went no further than Bagdad because HE HAD NO END PLAN. What a pity Blair and Bush did heed his advice. Advice, it has been leaked, that Foreign Secretary Jack Straw gave Tony Blair before the invasion. Arrogant Tony knew better it seems.
