Alzira is a prosperous town with a thriving and continuing development strategy - one sees building works everywhere you look. Many substantial developments, targeted mainly at the British, are in the pipe line. Some, of course, are in the more rural areas of Alzira, where potentially huge developments are planned, including the obligatory golf courses - to attract those much desired Brits - who else?
It is vital therefore that both the Mayoress, and her Officials, be made fully aware of the importance of their "playing fair" with
Ex Pats. This is particularly important when they are addressing genuine Ex Pat grievances and must include them doing so with integrity, fairness and complete transparency. To do otherwise will lead to their serious criticism, condemnation and adverse publicity for the town of Alzira, via this web site. That, in turn, will only serve to persuade serious numbers of potential
Ex Pats, to seek a more "user friendly" Ex Pat town for their next new home and lifestyle.
We are aware that the current Mayoress is a very intelligent and well respected lady, within the community, and feel sure that she will, not only see the importance of the above comments, but will ensure that her Officials fully appreciate their importance.
We believe that she would not want Alzira Town Hall to be seen as being anti Ex Pat, or as being unhelpful to
Ex Pats. Further we believe that she will not want Alzira to be seen to deny Ex Pats of either her personal, and or the Town Hall's, full support and commitment, in such matters as this illegal build.
Our members, affected by this illegal build, now stand to be * seriously disadvantaged financially, whilst additionally they have had their quality of life and privacy invaded by the totally unacceptable and cavalier attitude of a particular couple. This couple appear to be hell bent on abusing any basic standards of decency, the retention of neighbours privacy, or even complying with the laws governing the construction of buildings. ALL that seems to matter to them is that their chalet is completed, as soon as possible, totally regardless of planning permission or how it adversely affects others. Also note that these individuals are not even Alzira residents, and yet he has chosen to invade La Barraca d'Aigues, in order to construct this illegal build. This despite Alzira Town Hall's clear, and correct, refusal to give him building permission.
We shall be asking the Mayoress, on behalf of these Members, to order the illegal build's complete demolition and further that their land be restored to its previous state. We believe that is the only way for our Member's to have their previous lifestyle and privacy restored. It will also give the chance for the Mayoress to stamp her authority on such callous and total disregard for Town Hall instructions. After such an enforced demolition, people and builders will think twice before wasting their money.
Additionally, our Members, as bona fide entries on the Alzira Padron - they pay a substantial annual contribution to Alzira for the peace and tranquility they previously enjoyed. We feel that this obliges their Town Hall to be prepared to act, on their behalf, and to vigorously defend their rights from such callous and illegal acts.
The full story, as it unfolds, will be presented with direct links from this introduction page, to the various pieces of correspondence etc..
